Sous-vide (which is French for “under vacuum”) is a method of cooking food where ingredients are placed in heat-safe, vacuum-sealed packs and then submerged into a temperature-controlled water bath. The Sous-vide method allows us to consistently produce perfectly cooked proteins, which also retain the flavour, moisture and nutrients in the meat.

1. Why Vacuum Package?
Exposure to air is called oxidation and causes fresh foods to spoil, cause freezer burn, mould, stale foods and rancid fats and oils. Our food vacuum sealers remove air and seal in the flavour and quality.


2. Why Cook Sous Vide?
Cooking sous vide is easier than its fancy name might suggest. You simply seal the ingredients in a plastic bag (you can also use a canning jar) and place them in a water bath, a combi oven, or any other cooker that can set and hold a target temperature to within a degree or two. When the food reaches your target temperature or time, you take it out, give it a quick sear or other finish, and serve it.

3. Before sous vide cooking, is vacuum seal a must step?
Yes, It is a necessary step.


4. Can vacuum bags be used in the freezer?
Yes, our vacuum bags and rolls are ideal for the freezer because they will keep all air and moisture out, preventing food from getting freezer burn and becoming dry and tasteless.


5. Can vacuum bags be re-sealed?
Yes, simply cut along the existing seal, remove as much food as you need, then re-vacuum package. Be sure to wipe off any food or grease residue inside the bag near the seal area. You can also re-seal Munro Bags after you have washed them.


6. What is your warranty policy?
We provide 1 year warranty for our vacuum sealer machines and sous vide cookers.
